Javier is an Associate Professor of History at Emmanuel College where he developed courses that focus on Latin America, Native America, the American West, and environmental interpretations of the past. He holds a B.A. in Anthropology and a Ph.D. in History at the University of New Mexico. A 4 year- resident of Byfield, his interests include hiking, kayaking, fly fishing, and mentoring young people on environmental topics.
